A synopsis of The Lion, The Witch and the wardrobe
A synopsis of The Lion, The Witch and the wardrobe
by Grant Brown
The Novel, the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C. S Lewis. Tells the story of four kids who discovers a magical world named Narnia. The story is about good versus evil and overcoming evil. The story takes place in countryside London England and in Narnia. The four children in the Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy Pevensie live in the county in London England with Professor Kirke and his house keeper Mrs. Macready. It is in the home of the professor that the children are able to go to the world of Narnia through the back of a wardrobe while playing hide-n-seek on day. Most of the charterers in the story live in the land of Narnia like Mr. Tumnis the Faun, Mr. Tumnis’s friends Mr. and Mrs. Beaver, Father Christmas and Aslan the king of Narnia. On the evil side there is the evil White Witch, Magrim is a wolf and the dwarf.
The major conflict in the story is between the evil White Witch of Narnia and Aslan, the real King of Narnia. The White Witch has casted a spell over the land of Narnia that makes it always makes Narnia a bitter cold winter place that never has Christmas. She had almost everybody following her rules. She has dwarfs, fauns, trees and other creatures keeping lookout for humans because she is afraid that the story about four humans ruling Narnia might come true. Another major problem in the story is that Edmund let his greed for sweets turn him to the witches’ side. While Peter, Susan, and Lucy and their new Narnia friends are going to find Aslan Edmund is helping the White Witch by telling her where siblings are. He was willing to turn in his brothers and sisters to the White Witch for sweets and a chance to be King of Narnia. The reason she wants them is so she can kill them. So they can’t fulfill the four thrones.
The main event in this story was the battle between Aslan and the White Witch. When Edmond tells the witch about his sisters and brother meeting Aslan at the stone table she plans to meet them there. Edmund comes along with the witch but is surprise to find out that the witch is planning to kill him because he is a traitor. Aslan and his army are able to save Edmund, but not without a trade for his life. Aslan and the Witch meet and secretly agree to exchange the life of Aslan for the life of Edmund. They children believe that everything will be fine until they realize that Aslan has allowed the witch to kill him so that Edmund can live.
After the Aslan and killed and then rises from the dead to free the stones slaves at the witch’s castle. The stone slaves include many creatures and animals form Narnia. Aslan takes the creature to help Peter and the troops in battle. Aslan joins the battle against the witch’s army. Peter and Aslan lead the army against the witches’ evil army. All the children take part in the fight. Aslan is able to kill the witch before was going to kill Peter. Edmund also helped in the battle by breaking the witches’ magic wand in battle and the rest of his army beats the witches’ army.
In conclusion the battle over all caused lots of changes in Narnia. The four children become the rulers of Narnia. Aslan knights Peter making him become, King Peter the magnificent, and Susan becoming Queen Susan “The Gentle”. Edmund the traitor in the story who was saved by Aslan becomes King Edmund “The Just” and Lucy becoming Queen Lucy “The Violent”. They were united with crowns, but Aslan left because he had other countries to take care of. I like the story because it tells every singe detail, and there is a lot of action. And the author wrote the story so that you could imagine or picture every part of the story in your head. And you can really fell the characters emotions like you’re that person.
